Daniel Rivera
Daniel Rivera was born on February 2, 1984 in El Salvador.On
November 8, 2002 Daniel was 19 years old and had arrived to the US. The reason Daniel left his country was
because the US had more opportunites and wanted to help support his family. "Its different in the way that
you have to adapt to many different things for example the climate and the food. The fact that you are free in your country
and here you are supposed to follow certain rules and there is more stress in this country." Daniel misses his family and
friends.

Sophia Portillo
Sophia Portillo was born on January 11, 1974. She came to
the US on February 6, 2001. Sophia left her country, El Salvador, because she wanted a better life. She choose the US because
she had a picture or idea of how the US look like from what other people had told her."In the US there are more opportunites
to be successful," she said. Sophia misses her family and older sister because they use to be together all the time and be
good friends.She left her parents adn older sister in El Salvador.

Jose Guevara
Jose Guevara was born in El Salvador and came to the US on January
1984.Jose decided to come to the US because of the Guerillas and the goverment having a civil war. "I chose to come because
I heard that it was the best place for opportunity for immigrants,"said Jose. The US gave him an opportunity to grow and see
the world in a different view rather than just violence.

Luis Jacob
Luis Jacob was born in El Salvador and arrived to the US on December
5, 2001. Luis was 19 years old and did not have any clue of how the city was. Luis chose to come to the US because it
seemed that US had many chances to succeed and many opportunities to be better thatn before. "I came to the US to work and
help my family that I left behind," said Luis. Some advantages that there are in the US for him are better jobs and more opportunity
to have money.
